    Applicants must be currently living and operating a small business in a QLD regional area and have a positive skills assessment in their nominated occupation. Applicants under this stream must have full-time work rights and not be currently studying.

      BSMQ criteria requires the applicant to:have an occupation on the Legislative Instrument (LIN 19/051);
    • operate the business successfully for at least 6 months prior to EOI or 2 years for start-ups;

                        Nomination Criteria:

                        • Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway: The applicant must have been working in Tasmania for six months immediately prior to the application for state nomination in an occupation closely related with the applicant's skills assessment (for a minimum of 20 hours per week); The applicant must currently be living in Tasmania; The applicant's dependants must not be living in another Australian state or territory; The employer must be a well-established business that has been actively operating in Tasmania for the past 12 months; A genuine need for the position should be satisfied (including a minimum 12-month contract with at least 3 months remaining at the time you apply for nomination).

                          The employment must be in an occupation listed on the Tasmanian Skilled Occupations List (TSOL)

                          Sole traders/subcontractors may be eligible for this pathway if they have a related skills assessment and at least 12 months business activity in Tasmania.

                        • Tasmanian Skilled Graduate Pathway: Available to Tasmanian international graduates who enrolled in a Tasmanian tertiary institution, have been living in the state for at least two calendar years and have completed a course of study be listed on CRICOS with a duration of at least 92 weeks. The course undertaken must be full time and on-site in Tasmania.

                          The applicant must be living in Tasmania at time of application and intends to continue living in Tasmania. The study must be:

                          • a degree (bachelor, masters or any higher degree), or a diploma or higher (standard, advanced, associate or graduate); or
                          • at least Certificate III related to an ANZSCO Major Group 3 or Group 4 occupation, and be listed on CRICOS with a duration of at least 92 weeks.
                        • Tasmanian PhD candidates Pathway: Tasmanian PhD candidates who have not completed an undergraduate degree in Tasmania are eligible in this pathway after living in Tasmania and completing at least 2 years of their PhD discipline in Tasmania.
                        • Tasmanian Established Resident Pathway: The applicant must have been living in Tasmania for at least 3 years and meets one of the following:
                          - Currently be employed in Tasmania in an ANZSCO Skill Levels 1-3, including a cumulative 12 out of the last 24 months.
                          - Currently be employed in Tasmania, including a cumulative 18 months in the last 3 years, in an ANZSCO Skill Level 4 or 5.
                          - Have operated a business for at least the last 2 years with taxable earnings equivalent to the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (currently $53 900).

                        Processing Time: 4-6 weeks

                        Sponsorship Fee: $220

                        TASLift Mechanic Immigration to Australia PR Visa (63)Tasmania 491 Visa

                        Nomination Criteria:

                        • Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway: The applicant must have been working in Tasmania for six months immediately prior to the application for a minimum of 20 hours per week; The employment does not need to be related to the skills assessment (If the applicant has a skills assessment and related employment in an occupation listed on the Tasmanian Onshore Skilled Occupation List (TOSOL) – they may be eligible for nomination after 3 months of employment);

                          The applicant must currently be living in Tasmania; The applicant's dependants must not be living in another Australian state or territory; The employer must be a well-established business that has been actively operating in Tasmania for the past 12 months; A genuine need for the position should be satisfied (including a minimum 12-month contract with at least 3 months remaining at the time you apply for nomination).

                          Sole traders/subcontractors may be eligible for this pathway if they have a related skills assessment and at least 12 months business activity in Tasmania.

                          If the employment is not related to the skills-assessment the applicant must have relevant qualifications or experience consistent with the ANZSCO definition for that role.

                          - If the applicant is working in a role classified at ANZSCO Skill Level 4 or 5, there must be a genuine and demonstrated severe labour recruitment difficulty for the role, endorsed by the employer in a statement detailing the need for the position, local recruitment and workforce development activities and strategies in place that have attempted to address that recruitment difficulty. Additionally the applicant must have relevant qualifications or experience consistent with the ANZSCO definition for that role (usually either a related Certificate III or 12 months experience.

                        • Tasmanian Skilled Graduate Pathway: Available to Tasmanian international graduates who have been living in the state for at least 12 months and have studied for a minimum of one academic year (40 weeks) in Tasmania; The course undertaken must be full time, on-site in Tasmania and be either a bachelor or any higher degree, a diploma, an advanced diploma, or a minimum Cert III related to an ANZSCO Major Group 3 or Group 4 occupation, and be listed on CRICOS with a duration of at least 40 weeks.
                        • Tasmanian Established Resident Pathway: The applicant must have been living in Tasmania for at least 2 years and currently be employed in Tasmania in either:
                          - a role equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Level 1-3, including a cumulative 6 months experience at the same level in the last 12 months (a minimum 20 hours per week), or
                          - a role equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Level 4 or 5, with a cumulative 12 months experience at the same level or higher in the last 18 months (a minimum 20 hours per week).
                        • Tasmanian Business Operator Pathway: The applicant must demonstrate that they have established and operated a business (solely owned or co-owned with spouse) in Tasmania for at least 12 months
                          The applicant's business must have provided a personal taxable income to them of at least 85 percent of the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (i.e. currently $45 815)
                          Owners of massage therapy businesses must have a related skills assessment and the business must be in a hospital, aged or disability care setting or an allied healthcare setting such as a physiotherapy clinic
                          Subcontracting business owners are not eligible for consideration in this pathway.
                        • Overseas Applicant (Job Offer) Pathway: The applicant must have received a formal job offer for a job that is based in Tasmania that is closely related to their nominated occupation.
                          The applicant, or any of your dependents must not have lived in another Australian state or territory within the last 12 months.
                          The applicant's employer must have a well-established business that has been actively operating in Tasmania for at least the past 12 months.
                          Your wages and conditions must be no less favourable than those that would apply to an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and salary or wages must be at least equivalent to the local market salary rate.
                          There must be a genuine and ongoing need for the applicant's position within the business and the capacity for the business to sustain their employment.
                          Massage therapist positions must be located in a hospital, aged or disability care setting or an allied healthcare setting such as a physiotherapy clinic.

    UNIT GROUP 3411 ELECTRICIANS

      ELECTRICIANS design, assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, components, appliances and facilities for industrial, commercial and domestic purposes, and service and repair lifts, escalators and related equipment.

      Automotive Electricians are excluded from this unit group. Automotive Electricians are included in Unit Group 3211 Automotive Electricians.


      Indicative Skill Level:

      Most occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with the qualifications and experience outlined below.

      In Australia:

        AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

      In New Zealand:
        NZ Register Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

      At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

      Registration or licensing is required.

      • examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation
